A great way to dissolve acne

As a beauty blogger, I’m always trying new products. There were many times where I tried some products, wrote relatively good reviews about them but stopped and go back to my old products simply because some of them were good, but not good enough to stay in my regime.

Recently I tried out some new products again and this time round I will be sticking to them until they hit the very last bit!

Here’s two new products from Neogence that I’ve been using it rather diligently recently.
Neogence Mineral Micro Scrub Exfoliating Cream and Neogence Extremely Off Head Serum

If you don’t already know, Neogence is one of the top skin care brand in Taiwan that combines the effort from different fields of dermatology, medicine and biomedical to create skincare products specially for Asian climate and Asian skin. One of our top most concerns would be pores and pimples. Right or not? Because for me, I’m still facing this problem every now and then due to hormones and genes. If I hadn’t learn to take care of my skin, it could have been in a ten fold worse state.

I was elated to know about their new Pore Solution series targeting these problems which I face! Although I couldn’t make it to their launch event, Sasa still kindly sent me the products to try out. Aww, I’m so touched! :)

The new pore series are all about effectively recuperating sebum, controlling germs, dissolving acne, and rebuilding pores.

Every week I would scrub my face twice with this exfoliating cream. As you can see, it disperses out as a thick creamy paste. It contains micro beads inside that isn’t harsh to the skin. You can use this while your skin is wet or dry. I usually use it wet cos it’s more  convenient.

The  problem I have with this product is the smell. It really smells damn horrible. But other than that, I actually do quite love this product. My skin looks radiant after use, pores are clean, leaving my skin feeling smoother. The skin felt smoother than using any other scrubs with harsher beads. There’s also another problem which I face, ie not able to wash off the scrub completely. After washing the skin, I somehow still see remaining products in my pores and that I have to say bothers me a little. I had to wash a few times before they are completely washed off.

This product is a gem in my regime now. It is a serum that is meant to soften and dissolve acne and pore. Now this is interesting, isn’t it? I have never heard of any products that dissolve acne. Usually the ones I used leave my acne dry and ready for extraction. But this one doesn’t! The acne somehow disappear after a good 3 to 4 days of usage.

The product dispenses out from a dropper and I like it this way as I have better control of the amount I want to use.

I usually use about two drops and apply it sparingly all over my U zone and temples. These are areas of acne for me.

I’m sorry for not have any before-after pictures like I usually do because I’m too busy flying around in December. Usually after taking the plane, my skin would be more congested and I would have pimples popping out. I did not bring this out for travelling except for the scrub. Although my skin felt smoother and better after the scrub, my pimples are still there and the white heads are already out, ready to pop anytime. I didn’t dare do anything while travelling overseas. When I came back, I started using the serum and I’m pleasantly surprise to see my acne gone after a few days! What’s bonus was that my skin wasn’t dry at all unlike other pimple cream. I also love to use it on upcoming pimples. Recently my sister also complimented that my skin looks better these days.

I’m very confident that this will stay in my regime for a long time! I will definitely re-purchase.

You can get Neogence Pore Solution at Sasa outlets.

Other products that are in my current regime:
Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil
Ciracle Washing Powder
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel (as day cream)
Clinique Repair Wear Laser Focus Eye Cream
Naruko Raw Jobs Tear Sleeping Jelly (as night cream)
Suisse Program Cellular Boosting Solution
Methode Swiss Pore Minimizing Skin Treatment
Hada Labo UV SPF50+ PA+++

I’m quite happy with my current regime and I will stick to it unless I have new products to review again. :)

Review: Goodskin Labs Exten-10 instant youth boosting moisturizer SPF15

I’ve been using Goodskin Labs Exten-10 instant youth boosting moisturizer SPF15 for a good few weeks before I write this review.

To be honest, I was afraid to try it at first because of its creamy texture. I only dare to try it when I see many positive reviews on the web. This moisturizing cream aims to help to improve skin’s radiance instantly and help you to look 10.4 years younger!

I was quite surprised that this cream didn’t leave any greasy feeling on my skin. It is readily absorbed, leaves a matte finish and instantly brightens my skin a little. Though so, I recommend not using more than a pea size of this cream for combination skin. I also like it that it contains SPF in it so when I get lazy and not wanting to put any sunblock, this moisturizing cream is enough for a little sun protection. I am not too sure if I looked any younger but I do notice my skin is more Q and bouncy than before.

This was my day time moisturizer when I was away for a winter vacation! I love it!

Thanks Sasa for sponsoring this to me. :)

How to create Korean’s skin with makeup

Hello girls! Recently I attended L’oreal’s event launching the new magique series that includes a primer, foundation and a touch up pen! And my apologies for not having any event photos this time round as my camera died on me!! The venue was rather dark as it was held at a spa pent house which is supposed to be relaxing, so my phone’s camera couldn’t save me either.

Anyhoos, this new magique series is about creating porcelain, flawless skin like that of a K Pop Star! I was hoping to get my hands on these products as soon as I heard about it and my so glad my wish is granted!! ^-^

The thing about a Korean’s base makeup is that they look translucent, dewy and flawless. I’ve been in love with this type of base makeup for the longest time. Their skin just look perfect in any angle.

In the past, to get this look, I would use BB cream + concealor + highlighter. It wasn’t easy to find a good highlighter that doesn’t look as if you have highlighter on. Most of the time the shimmers were too much for me to handle. It just doesn’t look natural. What I want to achieve is glow from within. And BB creams are good for natural look but most of the time, they have pretty light coverage that doesn’t covers scars well.

For this look above, I’ve used all three products to create a porcelain flawless skin. Ahem, pardon if I praise myself like this. lolol. But don’t you agree the glow makes my skin look so good and my features sharper?!

The first step is to use their pure light primer that promises lit from within the complexion! This is what makes a difference in the makeup!

The texture of the primer is really watery and easy to blend. There are no obvious shimmers in the primer but it simply just makes your skin glow without the shimmers. Love it.
To use it: Using the “CCTV” Technique dab on the apples of your cheek in “C” shape, T zone in “T” shape and chin in “V” Shape.

Then apply the light-infusing foundation all over the skin.

I am using “N2″ shade which is the second lightest shade in the series. What I love about this foundation is that it is not thick and easy to blend in. It covers well and is buildable. I haven’t been able to find a good drugstore liquid foundation but now I’m convinced with L’oreal’s!

*Tip: Do not apply anything on the eye area first as it tends to be dry and may cake easily when you load too much products on it. Leave it till the last.

Use the Magique Touch up pen next as a concealor and a highlighter!

It dispenses the product on the brush. The brush was a little stiff at first but now all’s good after a few usage.

Dab it in the area as shown – T zone, dark eye circles, laugh lines and chin!

And the whole look is completed!

I also use it in my Taiwan’s trip and am so loving it!! Love the glow!

Review: BRTC BB Cream

Sponsored

Today I’ll be introducing you to 4 BRTC BB Creams that are available at Sasa!

From Left to Right: Jasmine Water BB Cream, Aqua Rush Water Drop BB Cream, Whitening and Repairing BB Cream and Gold Caviar BB Cream.

All 4 of these BB Creams are designed to cater to different skin needs.
Jasmine – Sensitive Skin
Aqua – Dry Skin
Whitening – Whitening/Anti-aging
Gold Caviar – Anti-aging

As you all know, I am a big fan of BB cream and I have my own favourite BB creams to use. Will these BB creams win my current favourite? Let’s check it out!

Colour Swatch

Firstly, here’s a colour swatch of all 4 BB cream. As you can probably tell, Jasmine BB cream has a slightly pinkish undertone to it, Aqua is slightly yellow, whitening is on the fairer side and gold caviar is a little on the dark side.

Judging from the swatches, my first pick would be Jasmine BB cream. After trying it out on my skin, Jasmine BB cream blends in well into my skin without looking too fair or grey. Aqua BB cream would be suitable for people with yellow undertone. The Whitening BB cream is a little too fair for me and needless to say, Gold Caviar is too dark for me.

Coverage

To test the coverage, I drew 4 stars on my skin with my K Palette Eyeliner and I dab on some BB cream to see whether they can cover the black stars.

From Left to Right: Jasmine, Aqua, Whitening, Gold Caviar

As you can probably tell, the Whitening BB cream has the most coverage but it is also the fairest colour. I also find the Whitening BB cream to be a little too thick for my liking. It is definitely too fair for me. The rest of the BB creams has medium to high coverage which is adequate for daily usage. As for the Aqua BB Cream, it is the lightest in texture and coverage but it is also slightly more oily than the rest as my eyeliner smudges. But I guess the only reason why is because this is for the dry skin.

Lasting Power

For this, I find that all BB creams lasted for 3 to 4 hours before I need to blot. They are not good in oil control as I’ve used better BB creams that control the oil better.

My choice out of these 4 BB creams would be Jasmine Water BB Cream. Upon application, there is a strong scent of Jasmine. It has pretty good coverage. The down side is that the texture is a little thick so it can be rather difficult to spread across the face.

This picture illustrates the use of Jasmine Water BB Cream. As you can tell, I have pigmentation problems due to post acne and freckles. This BB cream does give me a good coverage even without any concealor! Although I prefer my current BB cream, I will not deny that this is a pretty decent BB cream to use. I will be passing this to my friend since it’s her favourite BB cream! :)

Exclusively available at S$32 each in selected SaSa Stores.

November Bella Box

Hello girls! MY EXAM IS FINALLY OVER! Hehehe…No more exams in my life! So time to blog!
Today I will be showing you what’s in my November’s Bella Box and I’m really honored to be one of their guest blogger for this month.

This month’s bella box is better than the previous month and I really like it cos it would come useful for my upcoming holiday trips!

From left to right: Storyderm Silk Mask, Loreal Professionnel Absolut Cellular Repair Shampoo, Loreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil, Benta Berry G1-Creme Hydratante Regulatrice and Savoir Faire Mini Lipstick.

This is not the first time I received Savoir Faire Lipstick but this is the first mini lipstick I have! It contains beeswax which nourishes the lips and is water-resistant. They come in seven different shades and are the perfect size for keeping in your purse for a night out. This lipstick will definitely not add any weight to my makeup pouch.

Comes in a gorgeous sheen of colour!

The Loreal Professionnel shampoo is enriched with Lactic Acid technology which can gently eliminates residue while protecting the hair. Dry hair is moisturised and restored, giving it a revitalised shine. I like the smell of the shampoo and it also works to clean my hair well. Hair is smooth after using the shampoo too! I’m bringing this to my holiday trip.

The Mythic Oil is the star product which offers a unique blend of precious argan oil and grape seed oil to nourish and tame hair. The end result is instantly shiny hair that is protected against frizz and environmental aggressors. We all know argan oil is good for the hair. After using this oil, I find that my hair takes a shorter time to dry and it does gives me the shine that’s not too greasy looking!

Check out this video on how to use it:

This Benta Berry G-1 Creme Hydratane Regulatrice (what a mouthful name) is a moisturizing face cream that is made from 100% natural active ingredients. It has a mattifying effect, which leaves the skin smooth and balanced while diminishing redness and blemishes at the same time.
This sounds good for oil and combination skin type.

Tip: Keep this sample plus Q-tips in your bag. When your eye makeup smudges, use the Q-tip and dab on a little of the moisturizer to clean away the mess. Roll the Q tip along the eye and you will find your panda eyes missing!

This mask aids in cell regeneration and is developed to deeply moisturize and condition the skin.

Lastly, I also found this beautiful mustache necklace in the box! What a pleasant surprise!

Bella Box now also has box catered to babies and men! Do check them out here.

PS: I will try to schedule some posts while I’m away travelling! So do check back. :)

Review: BRTC Vital 10 System

Sponsored

I was given a huge bag of skincare products from Sasa last month. And yes, if you’ve been following my instagram, you would have known that I was trying out the BRTC Multi Vital 10 system products since last month. And after trying out for a couple of weeks, I’m finally ready to pen down how I felt about these products.

Introduction

Multi Vital 10 Line is the whitening line that revises dull skin tone to be even and gorgeous by more than 10% of various vitamin complexes as vitamin B5, E, F and B3 effective for creating dull and dark skin to be bright and illuminated being concentrated.

Vitalizer White Soap 200ml , $35

Cleansing foam with full of vitamin capsules concentrated 10% of vitamin

What it claims to do:
Cleansing foam that manages makeup, bodily waste, sebum as well as dead skin cell at once with refreshing, plentiful foam maintains moisturized skin without feeling tight even after washing face by created a moist film and cleans the skin by bursting vitamin capsules while washing.

My thoughts:
This soap smells like orange, fortunately or unfortunately the smell resembles orange hand soap. This is a non-foamy cleanser on the skin. If you are the kind that prefers to wash with some foam, this is not for you. Otherwise, this cleanser leaves a clean and refresh feeling on my skin without any tightness. It is also fun just thinking about the fact that the vitamins are being burst on your skin as you wash. And no, you won’t feel any beads while washing.

Vitalizer fluid 120ml, $39
Vitamin toner creating bright skin

What it claims:
A toner with more than 10% of vitamin A, B3, B5, C, E, it penetrates deep inside skin to provide intensive whitening and add vitality, and at the same time control imbalance within the skin and provide abundant moisture to create clean and clear skin .

It dispenses out as a clear liquid.

My thoughts:
This is my favourite product out of the whole lot! I like to use it with a cotton pad and swipe it on my skin before patting it in. The toner is very hygienic as it comes in a pump form. The liquid has that of a slightly thicker consistency than water and it is very moisturizing on my skin while leaving my skin bright. The only thing is that if you have pimples wounds, this is going to sting your face.

Vitalizer C 10 ampoule 30ml, $48
Ampoule with 10% of vitamin C for skin tone upgrade and vitalization

What it claims to do:
Includes 10% of pure vitamin C stabilized through bio polymer process as well as abundant amount of other vitamins such as B3, B5, A, E, and F to help provide intensive whitening care inside the skin along with increasing of energy level through moisturizing and nutrient supply to create bright and clear skin..

It comes in dropper form.

Dispenses a clear yellow liquid.

My thoughts:
I’ve seen good reviews on the net. People test it on apples and find that the apple did not turn brown after 30 minutes. It is a great anti-oxidant serum to use. As it contains high amount of Vitamin C, it is best to store in the fridge for longer storage. I’ve not seen much results from using this serum yet (I use it less than 10 times) as I find that it is slightly too rich for my blemish prone skin. Nonetheless, if not for my hormonal changes, I would definitely try this out again.

Vitalizer White Gel 50ml, $35
Whitening functional gel containing plenty of vitamin capsules and 10% of vitamin

What it claims to do:
Whitening functional gel with contained multi vitamin capsules makes clear and bright skin with intensive care on blemishes caused by pigment and allows dry, crumbly skin to be moist and smooth and also provides vitality to dull skin.

Applying this is as though you are applying it on your skin.

My thoughts:
Once again, this smells like orange hand soap. I do not like this product and I stopped using it after trying it ONLY ONCE. It is thick and slimy on my skin. It feels heavy and I’m totally not for this.

Vitalizer White Cream 50ml, $45
Concentrated vitamin cream that supply abundant nutrient and increase skin brightness and firmness

What it claims to do:

A cream with abundant vitamin A, B3, B5, and E that prevent skin damage and provide intensive lifting care to remove shadows of winkles. At the same time it increases skin flexibility to brighten and firm up skin rough from malnutrition and stress.

My thoughts:
Surprisingly this is not as thick as the above gel. I kinda of like the texture and I like to use it before bed time as I find that it is moisturizing enough to be used in the night time. However, after using this for a week, I noticed I have more clogged pores and pimples! T.T  It could be due to PMS or it can also be due to this product being too rich for my skin. I usually do not experience any blemish on my forehead and nose. But this month’s pms seen me having breakout on my forehead, chin, jaw and nose. I stopped using it after that.  I really wish that this can work for me as a night cream but unfortunately this is not for me.

Bright eyeVitalizer Cream 9g, $35
Vitamin spot balm for intensive whitening on dark imperfections and damaged skin spots

What it claims:
A concentrated stick balm containing more than 10% of vitamin A, B3, B5, C, and E that gives off refreshing feeling and help intensive melanin care and skin restoration to transform dark complexion into a bright one.

This is rather unique as it comes in a balm form.

My thoughts:
I only use this on my under eye area. I find that I have to go over my eyes a few times before I finally “feel” the product on the skin. It does not give me any visible result yet. And honestly, I would prefer a slightly runny consistency eye cream than that of a dry balm. Nothing bad about this but nothing good too.

Pictorial diary of using BRTC products:

I started trying out the facial wash and the toner. It feels great and my skin looks brighter.

After 7 days of using the same products, my skin looks great! Then I decided to add on the ampule and the cream. Day 14 (and earlier) begins my worst nightmare. Together with PMS, my skin started breaking out. Look at my forehead’s bumps. My pores started looking big and many other small pimples everywhere. I stopped using the products and only stick with the toner.

Today my skin looks normal again and that is day 21.

I applied all the products on the back of my hands…and as you can see from the pictures, BRTC products definitely brightens and moisturize my skin pretty well. The fine lines are gone! If you are looking for whitening products that moisturize well, give BRTC a go. I will not recommend this range to blemish prone skin as it is going to sting your pimples wound. Dry or dry combi skin are welcome to give this a go. :)

You can find these products in Sasa.

Ultimate Collagen Drink

Sponsored

Guess what came in beautifully wrapped burberry scarf?

It’s collagen sachets from ULTIMATE COLLAGEN. I really wonder why whatever I wish for, it will just come to me. The power is magical.

A box of 30 sachets was given to me.

Do you know that women loses collagen really fast?
Fun fact: As we age, around the age of 25, collagen levels start to drop, at about 1.5% every year. Rather alarmingly, by the age of 45, the collagen levels in your body will have reduced by up to 30%.

Collagen drinks are definitely not the best tasting drinks in the world, so finding one with acceptable taste is definitely tough.

Drink collagen drink every morning or night for best results.

Ultimate collagen drink comes in powder form. Mix with a glass of water and you are ready to go.

What’s so special is that it is formulated with 5,000mg of nano sized pure premium Korean Collagen Hydrolysate derived from fish origin and available in 2 formulations: Ultimate Colla-gen Plus and Ultimate Colla-gen Gold

5,000mg of pure nano sized premium Collagen Hydrolysate with:

- Unique Freeze dried Acai berry extract from the Amazon forest locks in a large mix of antioxidants like anthocyanidins, vitamins and minerals which benefits the skin and heart.
- Ultimate Colla-gen uses fruit extract; blueberries are a great source of anthocyanidins. Anthocyanidins are required for the maintenance of collagen.
- Hyaluronic acid is a gelatinous compound that is found in many parts of the body including brain and eye tissue, joints and skin and helps boost moisture level, lubricates and comforts joints.
- Vitamin C and Silica is essential for the manufacture of collagen and synthesis of collagen protein within the body.
- Probiotics are added for a healthy digestive system.

These are really good for the skin!

I like to drink it while it’s chilled. The drink taste like blueberry and although I must admit it is not the best tasting ones, it is still acceptable for me. Fret not, it is nothing like medicine. lol. As I am only 23, I’m not taking this drink everyday, probably only once every 2 days.

Availability:
Nishino Pharmacy outlets, Pharmex Healthcare outlets and Robinsons Centrepoint

Price:
$88 per box of 30 sachets (one month’s consumption).

Casio Exilim JE10 review

Sponsored

Guess what? I’m SOOO EXCITED!! Like literally excited!! I *squeal* in joy upon knowing that I was selected to be one of the bloggers to review this sweetheart camera!! OMG. This has been ONE OF MY WISH and true enough, if you wish hard for something, if you believe you will get it, YOU WILL! #Thesecret is working its magic on me.

hehehe.

Let’s welcome Casio Exilim JE10 to be part of my family.
I’ve heard so much about Casio cameras and in fact my sis owns a Casio camera too! I love her camera so much that I’m really very excited to be receiving a Casio camera for review.

This camera is especially designed for the women consumers. You will see why.

Firstly, the design of this camera IS SO PRETTY that I wanna die! Casio Exilim JE10 comes in 3 colours – White, Black and Pink, and they also come in their matchy or contrasting jackets.

I was told that I was the only one who chose the White colour camera. Looks like many pretty ladies out there prefer Pink. Well, personally I love this white one so much because of the GOLD rim and the contrasting brown jacket that makes the camera looks so pretty and vintage. Talk about looking stylish. This one is definitely fashion forward.

The camera jacket is also extremely secure so you won’t have to worry about your camera dropping out.

Secondly, this camera’s button is in JOYSTICK form so that any girls with long fingernails can manipulate the buttons easily. THIS IS GREAT. Although I do not have long fingernails, I suppose this is one good invention for girls who always complain about not able to press the buttons easily with their nails.

Thirdly, this camera is so slim and small that it is able to fit into any clutch or handbags! Say you are going for a dinner and you want a better camera other than your phone, take this Casio Exilim JE10 with you.

Performance + Stylish + Small = FOR THE WIN

This camera comes with powerful 16.1 megapixel and a 26mm wide-angle lens with a 5x optical zoom. It comes packed with advanced features including Casio’s Premium AUTO function, which automatically analyzes the shooting scene to choose the best settings and performs image processing.

For the ladies, cam-whoring is always a MUST, be it with your girlfriends or boyfriend and even with your cats and dogs. Let’s welcome “MAKEUP MODE”. Nothing makeup can’t do. :p

I tested out this mode on a random dating date with my boyfriend. ^-^

Clear, sharp and flawless skin texture that looks natural! GREAT. I already have makeup on but this mode turns my skin beautifully smooth. My boyfriend’s skin also turned out great without pores.

The colour of the picture stays neutral and true to its real colour, unlike many other cameras that will auto enhance the colours that make the pictures a little “fake” looking.

At low light, the picture doesn’t turn pixilated too!

Not too bad. This camera is pretty awesome for the cam-whores.

Picture perfect even when I just woke up. :p

Here’s some food shots.

Food without flash. The picture turns out rather flat, and I’m presuming because it doesn’t have great Macro.

With flash, food does look better!

Another one!

This camera also comes in 8 Best Shots mode for you to create artistic looking pictures.

Below I’m trying out “Toy Camera” mode to take pictures of products.

As a beauty blogger, I often have to take product shots. This “toy camera” mode makes my product look awesome on pictures even without editing! Saves me lots of editing time.

This camera unfortunately do not have great Macro, but with “toy camera”, this is somehow compensated.

Random wall of mine.

Toy camera mode on toy.

More updates soon on my overall user experience with this camera. So far, this camera is great in taking portraits and fun shots with the various modes available. :)
There will also be Facebook contest starting from 24 Oct! So stay tune to my second blog post.
Check out official Exilim JE10 website here and FB page here.

K Palette New Products

Was invited to Jurong Point’s Sasa outlet for a makeover by K Palette. I went but didn’t really do much makeover due to eye infection. Nonetheless, I took some photos to show you girls their new products!

Their very first Mascara (1 day Lash Perm) was launched!

The new mascara promises lengthening effect without clumps and it is also easily removed with lukewarm water. We all know how irritating it is when mascara clumps together. This one can help you to achieve beautifully fan out lashes without any clumps!

Comes in a red sturdy packaging.

The wand is designed to fit our eyes.

Japanese Makeup products are always awesome as they are catered to Asians.

K Palette has their under eye concealer too and they come in 3 shades!

Shade 01 – Natural Beige (Moisturizing Effect)
Shade 02 – Yellow Beige (Brightening Effect)
Shade 03 – Orange Beige (Improves Blood Circulation)

The MUA used shade 02 on me.

Look who I spotted! Charlene and Yina! :)

I love K palette’s eyeliner as much as they do. I also love their brow liquid liner too! <3
