Every ending is a new beginning

The best thing about having a sister of the same build is that you can always share your clothes.
Though about 98% of the times, it is my sis who wear my clothes.  lol
Finally it’s my turn. :p

Anw, I’ve finally finally finally ended my school life and am starting real work next week.

Thank you all for all the good 4 years memories.
Every ending is a new beginning.

Happiness can be easy

Was in a pretty good mood to curl my hair and do proper makeup. :)
Top and bottom – Bangkok
Flats – Mphosis
Bag – Naraya

Happiness is a consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it…….And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it, you must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it. – Eat Pray Love

I think happiness for me is pretty easy. I just need to have time for leisure. Little things like reading a good book, doing facials to bigger things like spending quality time with the ones I love make me happy. Oh yes, food. Food is my happy pill too. That’s all. Life would be very meaningless for me if I can’t even afford to do the things I want to do, spend the day the way I want it. I think I would just call it a quit if I can’t do that anymore. Anyway, it is a luxury to spend a Wednesday like this. I can hardly remember the times I woke up at 9am on a weekday or hang out with Prawn like this. Thank you for the meaningful Wednesday and thank you for the extra time I have.

The hardest part of my education journey will all be behind me in a week’s time. And I will look back and smile and be glad that it’s all over. And I survived.

Have a happy weekend everyone!

Bagaholic turns Shoesaholic!

I’ve been looking for comfortable shoes lately due to the need of standing the whole day.  I even wanted to splurge on expensive shoes just so that I could be guaranteed comfort. But…well, I guess I haven’t been able to convince myself to spend $80 or more on a pair of shoes. Maybe I would some day? But perhaps not now?

So I got myself two pair of shoes recently!! A yellow wedge from Charles and Keith (to replace my dying wedges) and a pair of work essential Melissa inspired jelly pumps.

I’ve been eyeing this pair of pumps whenever I walked into C&K, but only decided to JUST GET IT after a few times of walk-in. It comes in three colours but I got myself the yellow one as it simply pops and looks really young and vibrant!

The wedge is relatively high (around 3 inches I guess?) but I don’t feel any strain at all wearing this! In fact, I could wear this even to shopping!! The wedge is also heavy enough to not flip while I walk.

And then the Melissa Inspired Pumps with a slight height. It goes with most of my outfits and is really soft and comfortable to wear!!
The owl is too cute btw. At a price of only $15, I thought it was such a steal. Blogshops have them for $26 or more? And of course, the real Melissa cost like $100 and more?!

Before I convince myself to splurge on Melissa’s shoes, I decided that I’m currently happy with my Inspired one. ^-^

One week of break. OOTDS

Finally the well-deserved one week break from work is here. This one week holiday is gonna be a blast for me doing some self-pampering, dating and meeting friends. Oh and of course that includes doing some work in advance so that I could relax myself a little when work starts proper again.

I’m really thankful for a week’s break like this. It gives me time to do the things that I’ve always wanted to do but no time to do so.

So anw, I came across this article on Facebook that speaks my mind totally, so here it is!

Isn’t that so true? Why be so serious when everyone is gonna leave the world some day. Even though a job is some kind of calling, I still believe the need to make time for yourself and for your love ones. There’s no point in working so hard when everyone’s gone from your life. There’s nobody to share the joy of your hardwork anyway. But, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be serious when you work. We should still be responsible for the work we do and complete all tasks given to us. And finding joy in the work you do is important as well. I’m still learning to have work-life balance though and hopefully things will get better as time goes. The last thing I want is to be satisfied in all aspects of my life.

So people I’m asking you, if you haven’t been meeting your friends, shopping and listening to some music, then there’s really something wrong. Get out of the house, have some coffee and let your mind just wander off from work. It’s simply therapeutic. Listening to radio station at night is something I love doing right now as well.

Here’s some OOTDS over the weeks. ^^

Polka dot skater dress from Thailand. It was rather long so I had to use a belt to shorten the length a little.

Vintage looking dress from Modparade. I don’t shop much online but I really love the stuff from Modparade because it so unique! I simply love the bubble sleeve and the preppy collar

Another nude skater dress from Thailand. This is one of my favourite!

And lastly, a weekend outfit which I wore today! Love the lacey top and the pelpum skirt I was wearing. I have 3 of the same pelpum skirts of different colours at home but black is my favourite. lolol.

If you’re happy and you know it, snap a picture. <3

OOTD: Day 3 of CNY

You know what’s funny?
It’s the sight of people using their phones every time even during special occasions like this.
The adults mingled, went silent for awhile and started staring at the TV screen. The kids?
Well, they are either on their phone or ipad, oblivious to the surroundings.

That’s the kind of awkwardness you get from seeing people once in a year. You smile, you talk and you kept quiet.
You wanted to talk more, but no, people might not want to.

Sometimes you get more stress listening to the topics which they talked about – of kids, of schools and of health.
You wanted to escape, but you can’t.
All you can do is sit down and eat the goodies.

Dress: F21

Day 3 of the Chinese New Year was spent at my parents’ friends houses.
I wore this studded body con dress that’s very flattering on the body. I knew I
had to buy it immediately after I tried it on. But I think I have to cut some weight at the belly area!
Sigh…all the goodies are making my belly bulge out!

I’m not sure why but recently I have a liking for
simple accessories like a dainty necklace, earrings, small vintage watch and simple dainty bracelet.
I think it gives off a classy finish as opposed to the studded dress that I was wearing.

OOTD for the snake year

The Lunar New Year is the only time where you get to see everyone decked out in their gorgeous outfit!
This year I decided to pick an outfit from my Taiwan Loot. My dress, stockings and shoes are all from Taiwan.
Wine red is ever popular this year and it suits the festive mood too! I have no idea when will be the next time I’ll be wearing this pair of tattoo stockings but I’m just glad that I bought and wore it on the new year. I love to try new things! I also decided to abandon heels and wore this comfortable pair of chic boots. I’m like really short as compared to the rest of the girls but who cares as long as I like it? Hehe.

My necklace was from Aries and I love that it matches the SNAKE year. Hehe.
Everyone kept asking me if this was heavy but no, it wasn’t!

My hair and makeup of the day. Received lots of compliments about my pretty hair.
But actually it only took me 15 mins to tong it.
I looked through my albums and realise my hair looks different every chinese new year.
This year I’m glad my hair is finally long enough to curl them the way I like it.
And for a change, I had the longest fringe thus far.

But through the day, the curls loosened into pretty waves due to rain.
This is the first CNY that the weather is sooo cold. But I like it! :D

What kind of flower describes you?

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet
And so am I! :p

School has started to become busy and I’m also busy doing spring cleaning of my room to prepare for the Chinese New Year.
Took time to attend some beauty events but haven’t got the time to blog about them!
With the amount of workload and CNY visitings, I will have to do so slowly but I can’t wait to share with you girls!

I’m a huge fan of florals, especially roses, daisies and sunflowers.
The above are chrysanthemums but are equally beautiful! However, I find them a tad melancholic and depressing, like they are yearning to be noticed among the rest of the gorgeous flowers. Sunflowers are different! They denote sunshine, hope and positive thinking which are really essential in my dictionary.
But the weird thing about me is I don’t really fancy receiving flowers because I hate to see them wither.
And when they wither, I made them into dried flowers because I can’t bear to throw them away. However, the thing is, I can’t do with massive collection of dried flowers in the house. lol.

So I have paintings of flowers in my room, love capturing them in pictures and keep a vase of fake flowers instead.
True beauty never die like this and I can keep them for as long as I want to.

Flowers, they just look so pretty and lively when they bloom.

First week of School

I always love school because I can be myself! I can never have enough of high-waisted shorts + crop tees + pretty trendy blouses which I may never get to wear to work in the future. So while I still can, I would wear more of it!  Also, I love my glasses and no-foundation days. My good skin days are just too awesome! Hope things stay this way. School just makes me so happy because I’m … SO ME. :) Just one thing I loathe … the waking up part. I can’t go without an afternoon nap these days. In any case, I would still prefer not being able to wake up and have a tough battle with the bed every morning than not being able to fall asleep.

Oh, and I finally hit the gym again. That’s something worth mentioning.

I hope I don’t lose myself in the near future.

What’s in my bag when I go for massages!

A bag-a-holic got to do what a bag-a-holic does – buying bags and buying bags. I got this bag from Naraya in Bangkok and it has been my favourite to-go bag this holiday. It’s light-weight and spacious enough for me to dump all my essentials in it. Black is a staple colour that goes with most outfit and the ribbon just adds some cutesy flavour to it. And did I mention? I love the polka dot handle!

A girl should have enough bags for every occasion – to school/work, gym, shopping, dinner, special occasions and travelling. I think that makes a great difference between a guy and a girl. A guy takes his backpack everywhere he goes while a girl chooses her bag according to her outfit and occasion.

I pack my bag every time before I leave the house. My boyfriend says girls are about pouches and pouches. Yeah, I guess pouches did make my life easier and pouches are great when it comes to protecting my belongings! So here’s what I brought yesterday to MASSAGE! (details on the massage next time)

My rocker outfit for the Xmas night

The thing that I love most about Xmas is the joy of giving and receiving. Every year I took time to write Xmas cards for friends because I feel that it shows how important they are in my life. :) And being a Santa Claus can be a happy thing isn’t it?

Yesterday I had my first Xmas celebration with FLOWERS. :) We all gave each other a dress code, a dress code that we don’t normally wear on a daily basis. lolol.

Mine was ROCK STAR ..2NE1. LOL. Although I say real one, I really don’t like 2NE1 maybe except Dara who is like so pretty even without makeup. But then again, her new hairstyle really is …. turn me off. =x

Here’s what I wore for the night – Body con dress with leather detailing + Scallop Studded bag + Boots.

Took this outside SOTA and I looked like I have mega long legs. And I looked really really fair in contrast to my all black outfit.

I always tell people if you put me alone, I would look tall. Just don’t put me beside anybody and I’ll be fine. lolol.

A rocker with a twist. lol. Mismatched.

My boots which I got in Taiwan for less than S$20!

And my bag which was my 21st birthday gift. Everyone thought it was new as I hardly bring it out. lol.

My teddy bear and me!

I like Prawn’s nike shoes. Very unique.

I am a santa claus!! All the goodies inside this bag. Heehee.

Went Starbucks for a drink. Guess what’s my fav Xmas drink?

I was showing my bf lots of pretty girls’ pictures and I said I think this Pang Lei Xin quite cute looking and then he said “eh you have the same hairstyle as this picture” and I’m like “oh ya hor! Similar!” and then I started cam-whoring. LOLOL. So this explains the picture of me holding a finishing drink. LOL. And then my boyfriend gone mad and I asked me to take 十连拍。

Stop saying that I am 冰山美人!

I am actually quite friendly. ^-^

It was a lucky day to receive present from the Santa Claus! We gotten a “house” (above our head) that house Awfully Chocolates Truffles inside.

Had a good time with my boyfriend…first meet up after I’m back in Singapore.

And then off to meet the girls at Just Acia!

Terriyaki + Soft Shell Crab set

Look at those huge portions! Slurps.

Gift exchange!! Gotten a desk vacuum from PL! Hehe.

I just realise I didn’t take a full length picture with SH whose dress code was lace and demure. But I think she look more sexy with that dress. HAHA.

YL and me. Cool VS ROCK. Not bad, give her credit for not wearing Pink for the first time. lolol.

Me and SW…hers was PRINTS. haha! Quite challenging for her.

Me and PL whose dress code was sexy! lol. Somehow I think she can swapped themes with SH’s laces.

Me and HM whose theme was dolly! I give it to her! She looked really different from her usual styles. hah!

Me and Y whose theme was glam queen! Glad that she curls her hair! haha!

The girls in Black.

It was super fun night out with the girls.

This year has been a rather eventful one even though there were no resolutions made. They say unexpected things happen when you least expected and it’s true. I slogged my ass out and passed my practicum. I get to do the things that I’ve always enjoy doing – watching plays and reading. I kept to my promise to be a better friend and made my very close pals a card/scrap book. I got closer with a friend unexpectedly and am happy that I did.  I got the chance to be in touch with drama again. I ended the year with two holiday trips.  I am grateful for all the sponsors I have this year and thank them for making me beautiful. Last, but not least, I am grateful that my family (including my lovely popo) and my boyfriend is still around me. Life is such a joy to have all you people around me.
