Golden Gradient Nails

Hi peeps, with Xmas around the corner, have you already glam up your nails?
Truth to be told, not only girls but guys too, notice small details like this!

You could get your manicurist to do the job for you or alternatively play with whatever you have at home. You can be pleasantly surprised with the result. I haven’t been getting any new nail polishes so I decided to use the Gold nail polishes I got the other time when I was preparing for the Greek Goddess partay.

So here’s a new try for me! Golden Gradient Nails.

My personal preference is to cut away all nails before doing any nail arts because long nails are simply too troublesome for me. Fortunately the pink part of my nails are rather long so I could still play with it. If yours aren’t as long, I would suggest growing out the nails for a beautiful look.

Nail polishes used …
The two gold nail polishes differs in how sparkly they are. The first one is lighter and is good as a base while the second one is more intense with more gold particles. Both compliments each other and gives off a natural gradient look when placed together.

Tools needed!
Any extra paper (I’m using post-it) and a makeup sponge.

The sponge is available in most departmental stores and is super cheap cos they always come in a packet.

To do this:
1. Apply base coat and wait for a few mins for it to dry. (I ran out of it so I skipped it)
2. Apply a nude nail polish all over the nails.
3. Dab an amount of first gold nail polish on the paper.
4. Use one edge of the sponge (with the gold nail polish) and lightly dab the gold nail polish and to half of the nails.
5. Work your way from the bottom to the top so that the top would appear more faint.
7. Dab the next gold nail polish on the paper and repeat step 4, covering the tip of the nails almost like french tip.
8. Apply top coat as per normal and you’re done!

Beautiful Golden Gradient Nails.

I will try this again using different nail colours next time!
:)

Nail Adhesive! Pretty funky designs!

I saw on newspaper this morning on the latest nail innovation from Sally Hansen; it’s an adhesive nail polish!

The strips come in 8 different sizes so choose the best fit for each nail. All you need to do is to place the adhesive on top of your nails, buff the excess off and voila, pretty nice funky nails without the need to step into the salon. This is so interesting!

I seriously wouldn’t mind trying it out if it works!

Nail it!

I think painting your nails really takes a lot of time, patience and effort.
In the beginning, I always do a bad job; my colours would always go out of my nails, esp when I have to paint my right nails with left hand.
Now, I still do make some mistakes but I can see that I’ve improved a hell lot!

The only thing is I do not have the patience to wait for my nails to dry.
So sometimes I would ruin my nails by meddling with stuff without waiting for my nails to be completely dry.

Here are some nail designs I did which I think I have not posted on my blog before.

Polka dot nails is like the first type of design I did myself! They always look different with different colour combi.
And I don’t use a dotting pen. All I use was white nail polish with toothpick.
.

.

Slowly I advanced to doing french tip. Added polka dots since I’m good at it. LOL.

.

.

Sometimes I give dark polish a try but I think I look develish in dark colours since my nails are pretty long.
.
.

Then, I also tried nail stickers for the first time!
The only thing about nail stickers is that it is quite tough to remove them!
.
.

Today I’m attending a themed party by ADONIS! So I did GOLD NAILS for the first time!

My favourite nail polish has gotta be O.P.I’s cos it is really really lasting!
However since it is too expensive, I figured I would settle for something cheaper which is TheFaceShop!

I would love to try 3D nail art in the future; with 3D blings and ribbons. Oh yes, not to forget the crack nail polish which is trending now!
Think it is going to be so much fun! Perhaps I should do a video on how I paint my nails and added polka dots with toothpick?

My French Manicure

I have papers today, tomorrow, and the day after next.
I’m not slacking when I do all these. I just need to find my own way to de-stress.
So that when people become more cui during exam period, I become prettier. LOL. Jk.

I’m totally digging my French Manicure. It is my first attempt of doing it without using any tapes for the tips. Ok, my middle finger is kinda spoilt. But but, overall it’s still good IMO!

And I really like this O2 skin nail polish which I’ve purchased. It’s freaking 90 cents only! WTH! So cheap!

So my sis and I did not hesitate to grab a few colours to add on into our collection!

Their Masks and Eye-Shadow were going really cheap too!
You should check them out before the promotion ends.

So what about you? What do you do to de-stress?

I wish all of you good luck in your exams if you are having any. :)
PS: May not be posting that regularly but I’ll try.
Review of Sunplay Sunblock coming up!

Chanel Jade Green Nail Polish

Am taking a break from my essay writing …

green-nail-polish-trend

Just like how studs, fringes, laces and florals appeal to me, this fall, I’m attracted to jade green nail polish. It’s interesting to see how light nail colours are slowly making a trend instead of the usual black and red nails.

And the only reason why I love this colour is because it’s totally VINTAGE.

Of course, I will not be willing to splurge on a Chanel nail polish. I will be looking for alternatives instead.
Looks like O.P.I Gargantuan Green Grape Matte is a good choice. ;)

Colours on my nails

Just added 2 new nail polish today ….

P9241120

God. I know. It’s damm alot. And you must have think that I am mad since most of the colours look alike. But hey, there’s like many shades of pink and red there! They are different; like bright red, blood red etc! Some are matte looking ones and the others have shimmers. So all different! And that’s the reason why I am born as a girl and not a boy!

Now I really really need a box to store them neatly! Currently, they are all scattered around in a small container.

:)

And I have upcoming plans for the upcoming week already!!
-Sat COZYCOT HOLY GRAIL PARTY with Ling!
-Sun Girlfriends GET-TOGETHER
-Tues Flowers MINDS CAFE
-Unknown date(s). Spend time with Prawn after 2 long weeks. Do anything also can!
- The rest of the days will most probably be spent on sch assignments. Seriously I have ALOT to do!

Ice & Water nails

P8060916My first nail art, inspired by ICE & WATER.

Yes. Don’t laugh at me.
I’ve never done any nail art before.
Not too bad for a beginner like me right?

P8060913Created using these colours.

I love the basic colour from Couleur Inc the most! It looks like nude pink from far but when you shake the bottle a little, you’ll notice a little sheen of blue in it. Really georgeous!
And I didn’t grew my fingernails to create this look.

Guess I’ll be more inspired to do more pretty nails from now on!
^^
