You love breasts?

What do you see in this picture?

Regardless of race, language or religion, all women have them.
No matter how big or small they are, all women cannot do without them.
But however important these asset means to us, a majority of us do not take care of them.

So what is it?

Breasts. That’s right.

I personally know of a few women who have breast cancer and the fight was tough. All the surgeries and chemotherapy was such an ordeal for them. They turned so skinny and weak thereafter, with their hair dropping as well. Worse of all? They have to remove their breast in order to survive.

Can you imagine a women without breast?

Can you imagine yourself without them?

Breast cancer Awareness takes place every October and this year, I am honoured to be appointed as one of the ambassadors for Estée Lauder Global Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. My job is to help spread the word on how early detection can saves life and saves your breasts.

(So blogging is starting to turn out really meaningful for me.)

If you are too shy to head to any doctors for examination (like me), you can always do Breast Self Examination (BSE) which begins at home. Check your breasts once a month. You do not need to do it too often as you might miss the change.

Check the whole breast area – up into your armpit, across your upper chest to your collarbone, and around the side of your chest.

Check for differences. Check and see if there are any unusual bumps of lumps or any other symptoms shown above. If you detect anything wrong, head to your doctor immediately for advice.

Remember early detection can saves life. And it begins at home.

The mission of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime.

You can also do your part to help raise funds in finding a cure for Breast cancer by purchasing some great products.

This year, ELC Singapore will be selling limited edition Pink Ribbon products to raise awareness of and funds for BCA. They are Clinique Great Skin, Great Cause, Clinique Great Lips,Great Cause, and Estee Lauder Perfectionist [CP+] Wrinkle Lifting Serum.

$10 from this purchase of each item will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

Every October, ELC will illuminate landmark buildings or monuments around the world in glowing pink lights. This year, join them and watch the transformation of The Singapore Flyer into a radiant pink beacon of hope on 1 October 2011.(Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it to the event! *Sigh)
