Intensive Acne Medic Treatment @ Glomax Aesthetics

Recently I was invited to try out facial services at GLOMAX AESTHETICS.
Located at 12 Eu Tong Sen Street SOHO 2, this place was easy to reach but not so easy to locate. This office building is right beisde Swiss Merchant Court but I just couldn’t find it till I approach help from the staff at the Merchant Court.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staffs. I was given a cup of tea while they analyzed my skin. I’m quite happy to note that the staff did not sound like my skin is dying and needs lots of extra help. Instead, she commented my skin is pretty okay just that she noted slight breakout at the sides of my face. She also commented that my skin is oily on the inside layers but dry on the outside. It was 5pm when she saw me and I had not blot my face since 7am. After knowing that, she also commented that  my oil production is not that bad after all.

She recommended me to try out their Intentsive Acne Medic Treatment. This treatment is suitable for problem skin with congested pores and acne.

I was quickly ushered into a cosy room with thick blanket and pillow for the leg.

The process of the treatment is as such:

– Makeup removal and cleansing of skin
– Sonic Cleansing device to remove impurities and dirt off skin surface
– Manual Extractions
– Mild Antiseptic High Frequency device for anti-bacterial
– Acne IPL  rebalance the sebum level, problem skin will dramatically clear up after each session.
– Acne treatment mask
– Moisturizer and Sunblock

This was the sonic cleansing device which they used on my skin. Look at all those junks!!

Of course, the most difficult part of a facial is the extractions. As my period was nearing, my sensitivity to pain increases and it was rather painful at certain point of time. However, I was glad that the extractions were quite thorough and detailed. You know how some facial salons just give half-fucked extractions that you wish you didn’t go.

The last step of the facial was IPL and this is the first time I tried IPL on my entire face!! According to them, IPL can help rebalance the skin’s sebum production and at the same time brighten up your skin since some facial hair would have been killed by the light.
If I didn’t count wrongly, my therapist go over my face three times with IPL.

Each cubicle also have a basin and the products were kept clean as well.

Environment wise, the place was cosy but half way through the extractions, I started to perspire because the temperature was a little warm for my liking and the blanket was quite thick. Another thing which I didn’t like was the fact that no music were played. Although I fell asleep during the masking process, I wasn’t in a totally relaxing mood as I could hear lots of traffic from the cars outside.

Now! PICTURE TIME! I know no picture no talk! :p

This was my skin RIGHT AFTER the facial. My skin is instantly brighter with minimal redness!!
My skin has always been prone to redness after a facial. I was glad I felt comfortable roaming around in the night with this skin condition.

Skin condition before and two days after:

Lots of tiny bumps on the skin were gone. Skin is visibly smoother and less oily. Marks from the extractions are still visible but I have confidence the marks will go away in a few days time!

I actually felt that their facial wasn’t expensive considering the fact that sonic cleanse, anti-bacterial device and IPL were used on the entire skin. Now that it is only $88, I think it is worth a try if you are suffering from acne.
