Clarifying facial by Exuviance Club

I did not have the time to do facial due to work and I was feeling so guilty about it! Whatever happened to my promise of doing a facial once a month? Hopefully I will have the time to do it next month! Anw, I was happy to try out facial service by Exuviance Club recently.

Located at Thomson industrial area, this place wasn’t easy to locate. But I was glad to have a ride from Yio Chu Kang MRT.

Had a walk around the club as my beauty therapist explained to me the history of Exuviance Club.  As the word club explains, this is a place where beauty conscious us gather to address our skin concerns such as wrinkles, fine lines, hyperpigmentation and dull skin.

Here are some of the products that the club carries.

I was led into their treatment room to get changed. Their treatment room was clean and make one feel very comfortable with music playing in the background. Once I’m done, my beauty therapist helped me cleanse my skin and gave an analysis about my skin as well as the type of treatment that I would be most suited for.

My beauty therapist was very professional and gave a spot on analysis of my skin. She says I have combination skin and my inner layer of the skin is oily while the surface is dry. I was trying out a new set of skincare and the cleanser wasn’t suitable for my skin hence the skin has became more dry recently. There were also some jaw line acne caused by hormones. After analysis, she recommended me to try out their Clarifying Facial Treatment.

The Clarifying Facial Treatment is designed to clear congested or acne-prone skin, this treatment cleanses skin thoroughly and exfoliates with an AHA peel to reduce the occurrence of sebum and impurities. Treatment includes a relaxing face massage. Suitable for Oily and Acne-prone skin.

The treatment started off with some light facial massage. This is my favourite part of the treatment. It is absolutely soothing and I felt rested after that. When asked if acne prone skin is suitable for facial massage, she replied yes because gentle light massage can aid in the product absorption later. She told me to massage a point behind my ears because that pulse point can release all the toxic from the skin.

The club does not believe in extractions as they felt that it is too harsh for the skin. So after the massage, she applied a booster on my skin before using AHA on the skin.
AHA are natural acids derived from fruits such as oranges and lemons. It helps to loosen and get rid of the dead skin cells on the surface. It can also help to brighten the skin and reduce pigmentation due to acne.

When she applied AHA on the skin, it is natural to feel a little tingling sensation. Just let the beauty therapist know if it gets too uncomfortable.

PS: Do you know AHA does not cause the skin to be thinner? In fact it can actually make the skin stronger as AHA helps to reveal stronger healthier skin.

And then a clarifying mask was applied and left on for 10 mins.

Throughout the facial, the beauty therapist answered lots of my skin queries and I thought she was really professional and has good beauty knowledge! I definitely know I was in safe hands through our conversation.

This was my skin right after the facial! The skin definitely looks brighter and fresher. It also feels smooth when I wash my skin at night.

She mentioned that I was very fair but the skin tone is uneven. She suggested me to focus on hydration and whitening in my skincare regime.

All in all, this was a very good facial experience.
